Chandra Morgan believes colouring books are an important tool for relaxation
and relieving stress, in both adults and children. She is not alone, with several
adult colouring books hitting the top of bestseller lists recently.
This month, the Calgary artist has released ChanDraws Mind Escape, a richly
detailed book of 40 hand-drawn nature and fantasy illustrations that will unlock
your creativity and help you zen out, regardless of your age. She started creating a
coloring book out of her own personal nostalgia but quickly realized that
the therapeutic qualities that she enjoyed about art could be useful.
As a self-taught artist, she knows first-hand the potential of the colouring process
to reduce anxiety, create focus or bring about mindfulness. A blank sheet can be
very daunting for any artist, young or old, but with a colouring book allows you
to lose yourself in the process and explore creative colour possibilities.
